HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU TASTED AND SEEN JUST HOW GOOD GOD IS?
In the past eight months i have repeatedly seen just how faithful god is. He called me to put school on hold, quit my job, move from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and spend all of my savings to pursue missions.
All of this happened in a week. And all of it was totally worth it.
This new chapter of my life took me to Vietnam, of all places! I was on the back of a motorbike at 6:00 a.m. when i realized that a life following Jesus is anything but boring.
and this chapter is just beginning.
Here is the part that sucks...
Even after experiencing god's goodness and seeing glimpses of the plans he has for me, I find myself trying to take control of my life again. For some reason, there are parts of me that try to convince me that I know better than God. The names of these parts are: Greed, selfishness, lust, doubt, and laziness to name a few. But I have to make a choice.
love is a choice. And with that being said, I choose to love.
I choose to love god. i choose to love others. and i choose to be loved.
I want to have that mountaintop experience with God like Moses and Jesus had. I want to be so close to god that i radiate his presence.
Where do i start?
"Mountain top experiences often emerge from the regular spiritual disciplines of our lives. Don’t expect God to show up in your life in dramatic ways if you don’t show up before Him in faithful, consistent ways." -James McDonald
By learning to trust him in all things. by learning what it means to be obedient. by learning what it means to have faith. by learning what it means to have patience. by learning what it means to persevere. and by learning what it means to dream big. Out of all of these things that i need to learn, I know already that i have faith.
Having faith gives me confidence in knowing that all of the funding i need will come in over the next few months. it also means that I am okay with not knowing all of the details of how and when. That's where patience comes in.
matthew 17:20 "You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."
